He should have said no way, even when they threatened his DNC funding. Which I am sure they did.
Not willing to threaten the blue dogs, but the progressives, they are expendable.
Next election, lets see how well you do when we sit out, and give people some more reminders of the bush years.

You want me to vote for mandated private insurance profits, without giving us an option of a public profit system?
Not going to happen.
I have to tell my son that because he is American, he has to pay premiums to a “Sick Care Insurance provider”, and they get to dictate how much of a profit they want.
I do not care what goodies are in this bill. I want at least the option to join my neighbors and negotiate rates and services as a group, and put profits back into the system to provide better rates and services.
The bottom line here is that you cannot make me pay taxes to a private corporation to cover private profit margins, when social systems like Medicare can do it cheaper, and without profits filling up foreign tax havens. That is insanity.

Everyone needs to have a choice of a public system if you want a mandate.

We have systems in place that actually create huge barriers to income growth by placing income caps on benefits that keep people from getting employment that will not pay enough to keep benefits, but pay too much to allow them to keep benefits. We need programs that help people get out of the system for good.
